70,000 words now on my manuscript -- almost there! Or was...
90,000 words was my goal, but as I've gotten closer to reaching that goal, I've begun to wonder if I can get everything in that word count. So, I've considered raising the artificial limit from 90,000 words to 120,000 words. Whether or not I will even hit that is to be determined, but now I have a little more room to get everything that I feel would have had to have been significantly cut to fit the initial goal, which makes it a little less stressful.
Of course, being that this is the workings of my first novel, I am aware that a higher word count may not be the best thing, but... I'll let the publishers deal with it. Unless they all simply won't take my novel at that length, then I will cut back.
